Classroom:Nimmo is a finance major who carries a 3.51 GPA in a demanding major. He has been named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll all seven semesters at Nebraska. He is a two-time first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection and has been nominated for Academic All-America honors in each of the last two seasons. His goal following graduation is to eventually own a store or business
Character:Nimmo is looked up to by the coaches and his teammates for his leadership and character. He is one of the team's hardest workers in the weightroom and understands the important role that student-athletes have on college campuses. Although the team does not choose captains, Nimmo's leadership and work ethic rubs off his teammates.
Competition:Nimmo has played a vital role in Nebraska reaching the NCAA Tournament in each of the past three years, including a College World Series appearance in 2005. He has started for the last two seasons, leading Nebraska in stolen bases in both 2006 and 2007. In 2006, he was named the Dairy Queen Classic All-Tournament team and was awarded the Silver Stick Award for the highest batting average. Nimmo has drawn more walks than strikeouts in each of the past two seasons and is considered one of the best defensive center fielders in the Big 12.
