Classroom:Keanon is a physical education major who is set to graduate in December 2007. He carries a 3.4 GPA, was named First-team Academic All-Big 12 Conference selection as a sophomore and junior and is expected to repeat as first-team Academic All-Big 12 as a senior. He is an Academic All-American candidate> He has made OSU Dean’s Honor Roll (3.5 GPA or above) four times, the Big 12 Honor Roll (3.0 GPA or above) six times and is a four-time winner of OSU Academic Achievement Award. His career goals are to play professional baseball and then become a teacher and coach.
Character:He is one of the hardest working players on the team and is a team leader who brings fire and passion to the field while playing with and through numerous injuries during his career.
Community:Simon volunteers with disabled citizens in the Stillwater community and is involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Competition:Simon has started 162 games in four seasons and has played in 184 and is a .320 career hitter. As a junior, he set career highs in nearly every offensive category, including home runs, hits and runs and was a Second-team All-Big 12 Conference pick. In 2006 he led the team with 15 stolen bases, hit a team-high .363 in Big 12 games, was named Big 12 Player of the Week for the week of May 23, 2006 an had a career-best .336 batting average. He was named to the All-Tournament team at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional as a freshman in 2004 and led the Cowboys with a .385 batting average at the Tallahassee Regional.
